Anaesthetic Care: Perioperative Practice

• Holistic care and management of the patient during the perioperative journey

• Management of the difficult airway
• Care of the paediatric patient in anaesthesia
• Deteriorating patient assessment and management
• Anaesthetic machine, monitoring and related devices
• Anatomy and physiology related to anaesthesia and patient care e.g. respiratory system and temperature control
• Pharmacology and medication in anaesthesia
• Patient care requirements i.e. Individualised patient care, patient positioning, maintaining normothermia
• Specialist and advancing practice in anaesthesia
• Assessment and management of changing physiology
• Invasive monitoring
• Understanding and managing pain
• Transferring patients between clinical environments
• Human factors within the operating theatre
• Clinically relevant simulation to enhance key topics
