Credits: 30 credits at Level 7.
This course is aimed at qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurses, health visitors, and school nurses who wish to transfer and change their field of practice. You will be required to undertake 10 weeks (50 days) of practice supervised by an appropriately qualified practice teacher.
You will need to show evidence of your ability to transfer your competencies to the new area of practice by providing a completed portfolio.
What will this course cover?
This course covers everything you need to know about the NMC standards of proficiency of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (health visiting or school nursing).
This includes areas such as:
- search for health needs
- stimulation of awareness of health needs
- influence on policies affecting health
- facilitation of health-enhancing activities.
- Transfer of field of practice (health visiting/school nursing)
