Soaring to new heights at the Careers Aviation Fair 2023

Soaring to new heights at the Careers Aviation Fair 2023

Hi, I’m Om, a first-year Aviation Management student. I recently got the exciting opportunity, along with my peers, to attend the recent Aviation Careers Opportunities Fair event in ‘The Room’ at BNU’s High Wycombe Campus. Here I was able to share my experience with being an aviation student at BNU with others and talk to some of the biggest airways about my career path.

The Aviation Careers Fair will always be one my special highlights during my time at university, as a first-year student. I was more than excited to attend as I watched last year’s coverage of the fair in the University’s Youtube Channel.

This year the event provided all students, whether in an undergraduate or postgraduate program the chance to meet various aviation companies and organisations across the country to talk to them about various vacancies, roles, internships and graduate schemes.

In addition, students were given the opportunity to speak to aviation leaders as they were provided insight into the aviation sector and answer any questions about life in the aviation industry.

I had an amazing time to speak to many aviation enthusiasts from Cabin Crew, pilots, airports managers and talent acquisition managers. Companies such as British Airways, Easyjet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air were there as to airports such as Heathrow and Gatwick, and including the Civil Aviation Authority. It was wonderful to network with very well-known people, to get to know them for the first time, and introduce myself to potential future employers.

This is an illustration of the kinds of opportunities open to you as a BNU aviation student. Attending events like this allows you to investigate companies and to speak with airlines, airports or charter services that you may want to join, therefore, I highly recommend it to current students.

Additionally, prospective students can also take advantage of this chance and come along where they can speak to current BNU aviation students and conduct independent study on the aviation experience and the various available pathways.
