Students’ Union

As a student at BNU, you automatically have access to the great benefits of the ‘Big Deal’ which is run through the Students’ Union to provide students with access to a wide variety of societies and sporting opportunities to get involved in throughout the academic year, all for free.

BNU is the only university in the UK to give students the opportunity to access free activities, including offering a range of recreational and competitive sports; societies, CV building activities and skill workshops. There is always something to get involved with!

Not only this, the Students’ Union runs a range of amazing social entertainment and daytime/evening events, allowing you to make friends and memories that will last a lifetime. BNU hosts the best entertainment in the local area with live music, guest DJs and themed nights, giving students access to free events for 7 nights a week! As well as this, The Venue and The Lounge within the Student’s Union maintain a safe and inclusive social space for all.

Facilities

BNU offers a wide variety of courses to study with industry relevant equipment, state-of-the-art facilities and learning resources to ensure that you have access to everything you need to help you succeed. From learning to fly in the flight simulator to creating content in the media production suites, 24-hour library to the Gateway Gym, BNU has everything you might need during your time here.

Student Services

Studying at university can always feel very daunting and scary, however BNU is dedicated to ensuring that students mental health and physical health is always a top priority. From the Freshers Helpers to the Students Advice Centre, there are always friendly faces around campus to support you and settle any worries you may have.

The Students’ Union knows that your personal safety is essential which is why they provide initiatives such as the free SSHH (Silent Students, Happy Homes) night bus which is a service that ensures students can get home safely from the SU to anywhere in High Wycombe, to having access to use power bank chargers to make sure you never go home without a phone. Safety is a priority at BNU.

Location

With the location of each of BNU’s campuses being situated in busy towns, this makes it easy for local and commuting students to travel to university, with the sites having easy transport links. From BNU’s main campus in High Wycombe, you can get on a direct train, allowing you to be in central London within less than half an hour, it really is the perfect location to study!

Careers and Employability Service

BNU offers students the chance to access extensive help from the Students Opportunities and Career Success team, who are there to give a 1:1 career advice service to enable you to receive job related advice and support. This service includes resources on how to get part time or voluntary work, graduate job search, careers workshops or simply providing students with advice on their CV writing.
