Fees and funding
There’s a range of ways you can secure funding for postgraduate courses here at Bucks, including sponsorship, bursaries, scholarships and loans. And if you recently graduated from Bucks, you may be eligible for a fee discount.
From August 2018, the new postgraduate loan from the UK government will allow eligible students to apply for up to £10,609 to help cover the cost of studying.
For full details of loan arrangements relating to postgraduate courses, see our postgraduate loan page. Note, instalment schedules may be different for international students – get in touch with our international office to find out more.
Your employer may be happy to sponsor studies that are relevant to your role, or to the sector you work in.
If you’re a prospective research student, it's always worth contacting companies, charities or professional societies about sponsorship if your research may be relevant to them. Many students have found financial support for their postgraduate studies this way.
Bucks alumni postgraduate fee discount
If you’ve completed an undergraduate degree (Level 6) at Bucks New University, and you’re due to enrol on a postgraduate course (Level 7) at Bucks in May 2019, September 2019 and February 2020 you’re eligible for a fee discount as follows:
- 20% off the current fee per year for full-time Level 7 courses (in attendance or distance learning)
- 10% off the current fee per year for part-time Level 7 courses (in attendance or distance learning)
Discounts apply to UK, EU and international students studying at our High Wycombe Campus, Uxbridge Campus or University Campus Aylesbury Vale.
Please note: You can only be eligible for one discount; this discount can not be used in conjunction with any other discounts, scholarships or bursaries. This discount applies to students who enrolled through Bucks New University directly and not through one of our partnerships. You are not eligible if you have already completed the first stage of a postgraduate award and are planning to continue to the second stage.
If you have any questions, or would like to find out more, call 0330 123 2023 or email us.
We recommend applying for funding and discounts as soon as possible. Also, please note that courses will only go ahead if enough students enrol.
