Phil started out, as many do, playing in bands at school where, inspired by the DIY ethos, he wrote, played and recorded original music, organised gigs and marketing these with his friends.
Moved to London for an Audio Engineering course (Alchemea), playing in bands with gigs across the capital gaining Radio One airplay, photo shoots, recording with known engineers and key support slots whilst working in record shops HMV, Virgin and Tower records, Camden (don't look for it, it's not there anymore), Music Instrument shops, and on to international sales for distribution company 3MV (Creation, Sony, Warner, V2, Tummy Touch) and Cargo Records (Abraxas, Hyperdub, Tzadik, Sundazed, Swami, Man's Ruin) where Amazon and Play.com were his accounts. A key move to a small start-up (Trinity Street) followed where Phil worked directly on e-commerce and digital growth for a plethora of artists, managers, promoters, venues and ticketing companies. Before crossing over to non-entertainment related e-commerce and digital businesses (GlaxoSmithKline, Samsonite, Audi) and becoming a consultant for other large and small businesses in: food and drink, sports nutrition, bitcoin/trading, design and development agencies, Phil also worked e-commerce and digital for Sony Music, Warner Bros Film, Universal International and Ministry of Sound.
