Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2018, I spent many years working in the Early Years and Primary School sector.  During this time, I managed early years settings to secure high quality childcare and education, have undertaken a range of advisory roles in Local Authorities and engaged with vulnerable families from a range of cultural backgrounds in Children’s Centres.

I studied for my BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies at The University of Surrey and MSc in Psychodynamics of Human Development at The Birkbeck University of London, where I developed a keen interest in drawing together early years and psychosocial theories to inform early years sector practice.  I am also a member of the Fellowship of Advance Higher Education.

My specialist knowledge has led to a particular interest and expertise in supporting the psychosocial aspects of emotional health, inclusion and wellbeing of children and the protection of vulnerable children and families.  This specialism has led me to pursue my interest in supporting the professional development of those working in Early Years and Primary Education, and to develop a career in Higher Education, alongside running an early years consultancy and training business.
