Mr Kevin Stephen Acott

Biography

Kevin is an experienced educator, clinician, coach, inspector and manager in mental health and social care, with more than thirty years working in partnership with individuals, groups, families and communities. He has planned, co-ordinated and delivered teaching, counselling, training and practice development programmes for a number of Universities, the independent sector and NHS Trusts. His clinical, educational and research interests are in self-harm, people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, mindfulness and the arts, empathy, and the impact of trauma.

A Care Quality Commission Inspector and Specialist Advisor in Mental Health, and trainer for medical students at Barts Hospital, Kevin recently worked with survivors and people bereaved by the Grenfell Tower fire, and with families affected by homicide. He has recently completed the delivery of a national trauma training package he designed for Victim Support.
