Biography

Simon Lee-Price is a senior lecturer and manages the University’s Learning Development Unit, which supports all Bucks students, whatever their level or subject area, to achieve their potential. His specialist areas are academic writing development and critical thinking. He is a member of the University’s research ethics committee and is an external examiner for the University of Warwick’s International Foundation Programme. He has been a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015. Simon was awarded a PhD from Cardiff University for research in modern literature and critical theory, and prior to joining Bucks in 2009 he worked as a fiction editor at Random House. His teaching practice and scholarship is informed by academic literacies research, which aims to address the challenges non-traditional students often face finding their voice in higher education. Simon’s interests also include languages and creative writing. He is a published author of short stories and non-fiction and his work has appeared in commercial anthologies and literary journals.
