Rebecca Rochon

Senior Lecturer Professional Education

I have been working in Education for over two decades, and the pace of change never ceases to create exciting opportunities (and challenges!) for practitioners in a range of sectors. My own postgraduate qualifications are in the area of flexible and digital pedagogies, but my interest is in education in all its varied forms. I am passionate about helping educators positively change lives, drive social change and become leaders.

As a Senior Lecturer, my role is primarily dedicated to leading professional and postgraduate programmes in Education. Much of my work involves ensuring that qualifications are relevant for my students, most of whom are highly experienced practitioners already. Bucks works with a range of local education providers, SCITTs, healthcare trusts and further education providers and my aim is to ensure that learners can benefit from an academic qualification that enhances their day-to-day lives and impacts positively on their professional development. As a lead for several core programmes at a professional level, I work to create opportunities for cross-disciplinary practice wherever possible.

I also have significant experience in the higher education sector. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, I have worked for more than five years in supporting members of staff in gaining teaching qualifications and professional recognition. I am a trained assessor and an active member of sector groups dedicated to professional recognition in HE.
