Fiona Chalk is a Registered Nurse and worked for over 20 years in a variety of acute medical services, 12 years of which was working in a variety of Education and Leadership roles. This offered her the opportunity of supporting service users with varied health care needs and health care professionals with varied education and support needs. Following completion of her Adult Nursing degree, Fiona undertook a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Professional Education, a Masters in Advanced Health Care Practice and completed an Independent study Dementia Leaders course, concentrating on Dementia education provision. Fiona’s academic career began when she joined Bucks New University in early 2016 when she was recruited to support the Dementia and Frailty education agenda. She is the module leader for the Dementia modules and Medical Assessment modules. Additionally, she supports a wide variety of dementia education across a range of courses provided by the University and across a number of London Trusts.
