Biography

Rafid Al-Khannak is a doctorate in Networking and Communications Engineering and has been awarded BSc from University of Al-Mustansiriya/Baghdad in 1996. He completed his Post Graduate MSc Electronic Systems and Engineering Management from The University of Bolton/UK and South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in June and February 2006 respectively. He has been awarded a PhD in 2010 from The University of Bolton/UK in cooperation with Siemens AG/Germany and Sun Microsystems/USA. Dr Al-Khannak is currently leading Amazon AWS academy at Bucks, also the leader of BSc (Hons) Computing and Web Development program, MSc Cyber Security program, Cloud computing and Network Security Modules, and coordinator of the Computing Essentials - Foundation degree at Bucks New University, UK.

Dr Al-Khannak has a long industrial and academic experience, mainly in Engineering and IT sector. He has high interest in Engineering and IT operational research and development within the academic and industrial fields. Especially, in the field of distributed systems, grid and cloud computing, Software and Hardware system operations, Information systems, cyber and network security.

He published many papers in International Journals and referred conferences. He is a member of several Journals’ Editorial Boards such as Journal of Organizations; London Journals Press, International Journal of Computational Systems Engineering – IJCSysE, The Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC), and IEEE. He acted as external examiner for Postgraduate course such as PhD in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India.

He is a member of several International Conference Advisory and Technical Program Committees. He is a fellow member of Higher Education Academy HEA.
