Biography

Before I joined Buckinghamshire New University in 2022, I was working as a research radiographer at Oxford University Hospitals; in addition to this role, I was a practice educator and supervisor for student radiographers.

I’ve been working in the NHS for over 10 years which included my roles prior to qualifying as a radiographer having obtained a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Reproductive Medicine. I gained my diagnostic radiography qualification from St George’s Medical School University of London, where I was awarded the school of radiography prize. I am also a qualified nutrition and weight management advisor having gained my RSPH Level 4 award in nutrition certification.

I am an associate fellow of Advanced HE (AFHEA), a member of the Society & College of Radiographers and the Health and Care Professions Council.

My special interests are in practice education, improving patient services and experiences in radiology within the NHS. I have several peer-reviewed publications and continue to be active in research where I have a special interest and knowledge in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), having lived with crohn’s disease since 2007; where I also volunteer for Crohn’s & Colitis UK and Guts UK charities.

My greatest accolade to date is being awarded the NHS Leadership Academy badge and being invited to St James Palace in recognition of charitable work with Guts UK Charity
