BNU has appointed a new Dean of Students

BNU appoints new Dean of Students

Buckinghamshire New University has announced that Dr Dionne Spencer will be taking up the Dean of Students appointment on Monday 17 June, reporting to Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Health and Social Care), Professor Karen Buckwell-Nutt.

Dr Spencer has more than 20 years’ experience in senior leadership and management roles in higher education at institutions including Canterbury Christ Church University, UCL and London Metropolitan. 

She has held roles in Academic Registry, Quality Assurance, University Secretary’s Office, and the Department of the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Student Services. 

Her strategic and operational leadership extends beyond central services, encompassing roles at School and Faculty level where she led projects and procedural change in collaboration with academic schools, professional services colleagues, and the Students’ Union to enhance the student experience. 

Addressing her appointment, Dr Spencer said: “I am inspired by BNU’s unwavering commitment to its values and long-term strategic vision. It is such an exciting time to join the University as Dean of Students and to be a part of the journey. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across the University and working in partnership with the Students’ Union to enhance all aspects of the student experience.”
