How will I be taught and assessed?

Our approach is to put you in the shoes of a junior executive and ask ‘what would you do? We will give you a blend of knowledge, skills and abilities, allowing you to become a day-one-ready graduate. We’ll help you to seamlessly fit into any organisation you choose to join or start as an entrepreneur.
Our assessments are heavily real world centric. With live briefs and cases that challenge you to produce a result and not simply demonstrate knowledge of a subject. We ask for management reports, business plans, people management strategies as well as marketing campaigns and digital advertising activities. These are assessed through a mixture of presentations, short films, management reports, memos and briefings.
In your final academic year, you will undertake a substantial independent research project or dissertation, focusing on strategic business issues of your selection. Throughout this undertaking, you will be supported by an academic supervisor who will provide guidance through regular meetings over the academic year. This independent research opportunity affords you the chance to explore a subject matter aligned with your interests, resulting in a comprehensive dissertation or project report. The academic supervisor will play a pivotal role in offering advice on methodology, conducting literature reviews, and structuring the overall project. This guidance ensures that you meet milestones and submit a well-structured and thoroughly researched final document.

What are the course entry requirements?
Entry Point A: Foundation Year
- A minimum of two GCSEs or equivalent.
- For applicants from non-majority English speaking countries, an overall IELTS score of 5.5 is expected, with a 5 for all the individual elements.
- Mature student (21 years or over) may be accepted on the basis of relevant work and/or life experience. These students would normally be required to provide the following evidence: Candidate CV, Personal Statement and evidence of work in a Work Portfolio.
Entry Point B: Year 1 - BA (Hons) Business Management
- A minimum of two full A-levels (or equivalent) is required.
- For applicants from non-majority English speaking countries, an overall IELTS score of 6 is expected, with a 5.5 for all the individual elements.
- Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for the three-year undergraduate programme, or those who do not feel fully prepared for a degree course, can apply for a four-year programme including a Foundation Year.
