Staff Profile
John Knight
I have been involved in teaching in higher education in a wide range of contexts since 1989. Initially, I worked as a lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at universities in Turkey and Qatar before returning to the UK to study for a Master's degree at the University of Brighton. I subsequently worked on a number of technology-enhanced learning projects at the University of Brighton and City University, before I moved to Oxford Brookes University, where I worked as a Senior Lecturer in ICT and e-Learning, involved in Primary teacher training.
I then worked at Buckinghamshire New University, initially as a Learning Development Tutor and subsequently as an academic developer, before spending some time working in the Centre for Quality Support and Development at the University of Reading. I am currently employed by the University as an academic developer with a particular focus on curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment practices.
I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
In 2019, I received an Advance HE Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) for my work on the development of higher apprenticeships at the University.
