What should I do about my books I have on loan?

Library books may be returned to High Wycombe campus. Uxbridge Library books can also be returned to High Wycombe. The guidelines for returning books are as follows:

Books may be returned Monday – Friday between 9am-5pm.

You may use the short stay Drop Off Zone outside the Gateway building while returning books.

Only one person at a time is allowed into the Gateway and social distancing must be observed at all times.

Please sign in with your name and Bucks ID number and your book/s barcodes (found inside front cover).

You may use the self-service unit if you choose. Cleaning fluid and paper roll has been provided on top of the self-service unit.

Books can be returned without using the self-service.

Books can be placed in the book return box or placed on the trolley provided.

There will be no access to the building beyond the ground floor self-service machine.

You can keep any books you currently have on loan to return at a later date. We have extended their return date to 30 June 2020 and this date will be reviewed in the light of the shutdown. We have suspended recalls and overdues. No fines will be charged for overdue items and all existing fines from 1 March 2020 have been waived. Please continue to check the University website and Blackboard for further updates.

Can I return my books by post?

Can I still suggest new books?

Yes. Students can still suggest books. Please complete the Suggest a Book form. We are only able to supply eBooks at the moment.
Staff can send their completed book order form to the Library
All library users can contact Ask A Librarian for help in finding digital alternatives to print material.

Are the Libraries open?

The Library is open online with library staff working remotely to support University students and staff. Online Support is available Monday-Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday-Sunday 12pm-5pm. Library buildings are now closed until further notice. Access to print books and print journals is not available.

How will I find out about changes to Library Services?

We will update these FAQs to reflect any changes to Library Services.

Can I use Inter-library Services?

Requests for electronic resources are being accepted. Requests for print books and print journals have been suspended. Intercampus loans and postal loans have been suspended. If you have any queries please contact ill@bucks.ac.uk.

Can I use electronic resources off campus?

Yes. Our electronic resources such as eBooks, e-Journals and databases are available off campus.
