Buckinghamshire Business First is moving into a new office at Buckinghamshire New University, with a Business Hub created as part of the site to help support businesses.

The new premises are located in the West Wing of the University’s High Wycombe Campus, where the organisation says it will benefit from the vibrancy, innovation and access to talent that the University provides.

Buckinghamshire Business First is the Growth Hub for the county and said taking up space in Bucks New University strengthens already robust ties between the local business community and local education providers.

Buckinghamshire Business First Philippa Batting, Buckinghamshire Business First Managing Director, said: “Not only will the new office be a great place for our team to work, the location at Bucks New University brings us closer to one of the significant education institutions in the region, one which encourages entrepreneurialism and business development.

“In tandem with partners at Buckinghamshire Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership and the Bucks Skills Hub, Buckinghamshire Business First has long promoted the need for engagement and collaboration between business and education and the move to Bucks New University brings all parties into a strong alliance to support young people, skills development and business development.”

Philippa continued: “What’s more, the University is renowned for its environmentally-conscious approach and has been awarded a Top 10 University Carbon Reduction Award. Buckinghamshire Business First delivers the Low Carbon Workspaces project which delivers grants to businesses to help them reduce their carbon emissions and energy use, so this is an area of mutual interest that is a nice bonus for our team.

"The Hub is the perfect place for a variety of business needs, from those who work from home who need a more formal setting to meet clients or hold team meetings, to those passing by who need desk space or to meet someone informally for a chat."

Greta Paa-Kerner, Head of Business Engagement at Bucks New University, said: “Bucks New University looks forward to sharing not only office space but ideas and further collaboration with Buckinghamshire Business First. Through co-locating and working in synergy, we are confident our efforts around enterprise, business growth and innovation will produce dynamic multiplier effects.”

Greta continued: “Welcoming Buckinghamshire Business First also provides further proof that Bucks New University is an attractive base location for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) aligned with the sector areas we focus on.”

The new Buckinghamshire Business First Business Hub in High Wycombe will open in early October and there will be an official launch event at its AGM on 22 November for businesses and partners to learn more about how to benefit from the space.

The Business Hub, which is co-sponsored by the Institute of Directors, features:

* A hot-desk area with free Wi-Fi

* Bookable meeting room (seats 8) equipped with a SMART board and projector

* Bookable meeting pod (seats 4) equipped with a presentation screen for conference calls and presentations

* Break-out space for informal meetings

* Easy access to refreshments on site

To ensure the High Wycombe Hub is an inspirational workspace for local businesses to meet, work and do business in, Buckinghamshire Business First has collaborated with Bledlow-based creative design agency Design Difference, winners of the Buckinghamshire Business Awards Small Business of the Year 2018.

Buckinghamshire Business First’s new address – and that of the Business Hub – is West Wing, University Campus, Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe, HP11 2GZ.
