The Apprenticeships Hub at Bucks New University has announced the winner of its poster design competition.Winning poster design

The hub, based at University Campus Aylesbury Vale, kicked off National Apprenticeship Week this week by asking our traditional degree students to create a poster, for either employers or apprentices, promoting higher and degree apprenticeships.

There was a great response from our BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Graphic Art students and the winning poster was designed by first year team Natalia Gasior and Pirjeevan Zandu, pictured right. The winning poster will be used at various events throughout the year.

Kate Danbury, Apprenticeships Programme Manager, said: “Apprenticeships and the ability to collaborate with local businesses is such an exciting opportunity for Bucks, but we were also keen to work alongside our traditional degree students on a live brief and make the most of our home-grown talent.

”I loved the winning design and it was exactly what we were looking for.”

Lauren Besant, Marketing Officer, who provided feedback and guidance during the creative process, said the posters were very eye-catching and she enjoyed working so closely with the students.

Philip Long, Senior Lecturer in BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Graphic Arts, said: “This was the first ‘live’ project our current first year students worked on, so it was great to see them rise to the design challenge.

“They produced a range of posters which addressed the key issues and promoted the topic so well, and within a very tight time-frame.”
