Colour expert inspires Interior and Spatial Design students

The Course Leader for BA (Hons) Interior and Spatial Design at Buckinghamshire New University says students are reaping the benefits of a workshop with a leading international authority in the field of applied colour psychology.
Karen Haller has worked with household names including Farrow & Ball, Dove, Dulux, Orange UK, Fiat UK, BASF in the USA and Ascot Racecourse, and spent a day with students, enhancing their understanding of the psychology behind colour.
Course Leader Ali Tabrizi said: “As a result of Karen’s workshop, students demonstrated a better understanding of the psychology behind colour.
“I feel it is especially important and beneficial to understand the feeling and atmosphere that students aspire to create for their projects.
“Karen’s workshop gave them the opportunity to start using colour and look at colour in a whole new way.
“Now students have another tool in their creative toolbox to influence people in a positive manner by creating and designing positive behaviours in well-balanced environments and interiors.”
Karen Haller specialises in business brand colour, interiors, healthcare and wellbeing. She has studied colour for more than 20 years and understands how colour affects us, influences us and how businesses and designers can use it to influence behaviour.
She has consulted, trained and headed colour campaigns for prestigious global brands from Farrow & Ball, to Dulux, and Ascot Racecourse.
