A multi-talented graduate has won an award for outstanding achievement in his BA (Hons) Music Performance Management degree at Buckinghamshire New University.
Jared Parsons won the award for his work on rock music and the psychedelic dream pop genre and is now moving from High Wycombe to Brighton to pursue a career as a music producer and professional musician.
The former student of The Academy of Music and Sound in Exeter graduated from Bucks New University on Tuesday 6 September.
Jared, who plays instruments including guitar and drums, said: "I am very proud to have my work recognised as outstanding by other professionals.
"I was dedicated to my work and most importantly followed and trusted my intuition during difficult times. I feel grateful for the award. It's a nice compliment and it helps to show my dedication to others."
Jared also enjoyed studying at InHolland University of Applied Scienes in Haarlem, Holland, through an Erasmus programme at the University.
Parents Adam Parsons, an industrial chartered surveyor, and Wendy Parsons, who is retired, supported Jared at his graduation.
Paul Martin, Senior Lecturer in Music Management at Bucks New University, said Jared had a bright future ahead of him.
He said: "Jared was an exceptional student from the beginning with an ability to listen well and apply the appropriate information to the tasks and assignments he was set.
"Over the three years, he also developed a very good faculty to understand a broad range of conceptual ideas and apply them both to his music and his academic studies.
"Jared epitomised the ethos of the Music Performance Management course with the progression in his music and production abilities alongside a high level of reflective critical thinking, especially around his own creative process."
