A High Wycombe company is looking to boost its social media and digital presence after working with students in Bucks Business School at Buckinghamshire New University.

The Ceramic Tile Company in Bellfield Road, High Wycombe, enlisted the help of second-year BA (Hons) Advertising Management and Digital Communications students Sarah Hrycyk and Katie Pink as part of their studies.

The tech-savvy students developed a digital marketing plan to enable the company to make better use of Facebook and Twitter to help develop relationships with customers and build on their existing relationships, increase brand awareness, and gain customer recommendations.

Richard Thomas, Managing Director of The Ceramic Tile Company, said: "It was a pleasure working with Sarah and Katie. They helped us understand the opportunities that social media provides in engaging more effectively with customers. In return we were able to give them an insight into the commercial realities of running a business."

Miss Hrycyk said: "Katie and I are both huge digital and social media enthusiasts and it was great to have the opportunity to do the project and also to help convince the company of the value of social media and a digital marketing plan.

"Social media will be an incredibly valuable asset for the company, particularly in gaining the attention of younger generations."

Senior Lecturer Greta Paa-Kerner added: "At Bucks Business School we provide our students with live briefs so they are working with actual clients to develop genuine marketing solutions.

"Sarah and Katie are perfect examples of students who have developed tangible marketing plans that can be implemented by organisations like The Ceramic Tile Company. We believe this helps build the students' practical skills and confidence and improves employability."
