This course is offered as a four year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree.
The ability to analyse and solve business problems in market economies is highly sought after in many types of careers, both in the UK and around the world.
Our BA (Hons) Business Economics programme is designed for those who want to combine economics with a focus on how business leaders today make decisions. You’ll also explore the key areas of economics to understand and put into a business context its role within business, the UK and the wider global economy.
On this course you’ll learn how to apply economic theories and data handling skills to analyse real-world economic and business problems. Additionally, you will learn to construct arguments and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences.
We are committed to providing you with the best learning experience. We continue to invest in our facilities such as our modern library and computing suites. You’ll also benefit from our multi-disciplinary approach to education. All our programmes have a distinct focus on providing you with industry-relevant teaching, and resources and career support services designed to help you succeed.
On graduating you’ll have a solid understanding and be able to effectively identify and assess the impact of public policy on industry and society, as well as diverse business issues such as digitisation and technological change, the development of market economies, social inequality, and Brexit. You will have gained skills and knowledge that are attractive to a range of employers across both public and private sectors.
Our graduates pursue careers in a variety of business-related roles in private and public companies, government and non-governmental organisations, as well as smaller specialist businesses.
