Our course balances academic theory and practical knowledge and skills. You'll learn advanced theories and strategic insights alongside developing your organisational, leadership and management skills.

Our range of contemporary, optional modules give you the opportunity to specialise. Whether you're interested in organisational development, learning and development, occupational psychology or employment law, we give you the chance to further your knowledge in those areas.

Employers will value your master's. It is accredited by the CIPD, the largest body for HR professionals in Europe.

We also understand that many students on this course will already be working in the industry. This course is flexible and can be taken full-time or part-time.

We recognise that you may be taking this course while you're already working. While you'll have a set amount of contact hours, we make sure that every hour is packed with informative and beneficial knowledge.

What are the course entry requirements?

To apply, you'll need either an honours degree (or equivalent) or a CIPD level 5 qualification. As we accept applications on an individual basis, we also look at your experience in HR as this can be just as valuable as a degree.

For the top-up programme only, applicants should hold a graduate/full CIPD membership or a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.

We also interview applicants as part of our admissions. Interviews help us gauge who you are as a person as well as a prospective student.

Gaining my MA HRM has given me a huge amount of confidence that I would not have had I not gained the qualification. I learnt so much about my subject and it opened my eyes to aspects of academia I would not have experienced. I loved meeting other HR students/professionals and working with them on various assignments, all of us at different stages of our careers. I also really enjoyed meeting the fantastic lecturers and I learnt so much not just about the subject but about myself, my strengths and weaknesses and what makes me tick. The research methods have also been invaluable to my role. Above all what I learnt gave me the confidence to know that I know my subject really well and that has enabled me to be promoted to Director level. I would highly recommend the course to anyone thinking of gaining their level 7 CIPD qualification. For me the part-time study worked perfectly and I was able to fit it in around home and work life.
