Nursing and Operating Department Practice FAQs
All applications for the BSc (Hons) Nursing, PGDip Nursing and DipHE Operating Department Practice courses should be made through the undergraduate area of UCAS.
Each course has different entry requirements which can be found on UCAS and our website. Applications for September entry should be made prior to the UCAS 15th January deadline.
Please include all your academic qualifications, a reference and a valid email address in your application.
All of our applicants are assessed on an individual basis, taking into consideration your work experience, your personal statement as well as all relevant academic qualifications.
If you haven't studied within the past five years, we recommend that you undertake a distance learning Access course with the Open University to prepare you for a degree level course.
For further information, come along to our next Open Day.
All changes must be requested in writing.
Requests for Nursing courses can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Requests for changes to Operating Department Practice applications should be sent to email@example.com.
Please include your name and UCAS personal ID number in any correspondence as well as the reason for the request. Please note not all requests may be possible.
If you are looking to change course, you may be required to submit additional information such as a new application or personal statement for your request to be considered.
Applicants switching Nursing fields will be required to attend another selection day.
Once we have received your application, we will screen this against our entry criteria and if successful you will be invited to a selection day.
You will be notified of the date and time of your selection day through your UCAS Track.
Two weeks prior to your interview you will receive an email containing details of the selection day and specifying what you should bring to the interview. If you can't attend on that date you can request an alternative date through UCAS.
Selection days are an all-day affair. You will begin the day by meeting with the Admissions Team and submitting any necessary documents that you were asked to bring with you. You will sit maths and English assessments, have a group and individual interview with a member of our academic team as well as our Trust partners. You will also have the chance to explore the Campus and speak to current students.
The outcome of your interview will be updated on your UCAS Track within ten working days in most cases.
Interviews for Nursing courses will take place at our Uxbridge Campus whilst interviews for our Operating Department Practice programme will be held at our High Wycombe Campus.
You will be able to check your conditional offer by logging onto UCAS track.
If you have a conditional offer you will need to meet these conditions before the course starts in order to enrol. Please send us evidence of you meeting your conditions once this becomes available.
All queries regarding conditions for Nursing applicants should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org whilst queries around conditions for the Operating Department Practice programme should be directed to email@example.com.
You will have received a letter confirming that you have been given an offer and all you need to do now is choose which University to go to.
If you decide your first choice is Bucks then our accommodation team will be in touch with you about the options available. Joining Instructions will be sent to you in August for a September start or in December for a February start (BSc (Hons) Nursing programmes only).
Please complete the enclosed forms and return these to us as soon as possible so that we are ready for you to start your course.
You need to wait until all your universities have made you an offer before you can make your firm and insurance choices.
Make sure you have done your research into the university you wish you go to and you can then pick your firm and insurance choices on UCAS track.
Please note UCAS have a range of deadlines that you must make your decision by. If you miss your deadline, UCAS may decline your application on your behalf.
If you wish to defer your place, you will need to submit a written request through email.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for deferment of your Nursing place and email@example.com for deferment of your Operating Department Practice place.
Please state your name and UCAS personal ID number along with the course you are applying for and a brief statement explaining why you wish to defer your application. We will then be in touch to confirm if your request has been successful.
We are only able to defer applicants when you hold an unconditional offer for the next available entry. If you wish to defer for more than the next academic year, you would need to withdraw your application fully and reapply to the course when UCAS re-opens.
Any Nursing enquires can be sent directly to the Uxbridge Admissions Team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Operating Department Practice enquiries should be sent to our High Wycombe Admissions Team by emailing email@example.com.
