Professional Lead Child Nursing
I started my nursing Career graduating from Middlesex University in 1995. My first nursing post was on acute paediatric medical/surgical unit at Northwick Park Hospital. I then move north To Birmingham Children’s Hospital, working on a very busy Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. I continued to work in Paediatric intensive Care specialising in the care of patients the Cardio-Respiratory Conditions at Great Ormond Street Hospital and later at the Royal Brompton Hospital. During this period I was awarded a Masters in Cardio-Respiratory Nursing from Imperial College London.
I have worked in education for the past 12 years starting at London South Bank University and Whipps Cross University Hospital as a Lecturer Practitioner.
I currently work as a Senior Lecturer at Bucks New University where I am the Professional Lead for Chid Field Nursing and the Pre-Qualifying Nursing lead for maths. My professional interests include the professional identity of nurses and the recognition and management of the seriously ill child.
