Rania Khbais

Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in July 2020, I was working as a Consultant in the private sector, following my work in civil aviation in the middle east, beginning in 1998. I worked in both operational and regulatory positions, being a part of the expansion project of Dubai International Airport and the design and construction of Al Maktoum International Airport.

In 2007, I specialised in Aviation Security which saw me going through a rigorous training regime through which I became the first Arab female ICAO Aviation Security Professional Manager and ICAO Aviation Security International Instructor. This led me to become a resident member of the ICAO Aviation Security Professional Manager Evaluation Panel in Dubai until my move to the UK in 2014.

In addition to being an ICAO Aviation Security Professional Manager, I am a member of the Higher Education Academy and the Royal Aeronautical Society.

The highlight of my career is achieving my own Master of Science in Aviation Security degree and joining Buckinghamshire New University.
