Having worked in the UK and global Fashion industry, as a designer, in production and as a consultant, Brigitte continues to be passionate about challenging the norm to develop innovative designs through creative pattern cutting and critical contextual analysis. With experience that spans across luxury to high street fashion her professional specialities include, design development, garment production, project management and the global consumer.
Brigitte has taught and led UK and international Higher Education design programmes for over ten years and promotes a student-centred teaching philosophy that embraces cultural diversity and promotes independent experimentation. Aiming to develop both intellectual enquiry and industry skills to students in preparation for their career progression. Additional responsibilities include being the Partnership Tutor for the Bucks University programmes taught at Amsterdam Fashion Academy and London College of Communication.
As a Senior Fellow of Advance Higher Education, Brigittes’ research and publications are varied to include: design pedagogy, widening participation and consumerism: whilst her practice led research continues to explore cultural identities in the UK.
