Mr Chris Tapping

RN (Child), Bsc, PGCert Education, NMC Registered Teacher

Senior Lecturer

Nursing and Allied Health

I completed my nursing training at Bucks New University, graduating in 2002 as a registered nurse in the child branch of the NMC register. In my 13 years working in clinical practice, I worked in general paediatrics, progressing to a clinical nurse specialist role in paediatric oncology and then a paediatric practice development nurse position. I completed my BSc (Hons) in childhood cancer nursing, then completed my post-graduate certificate in education gaining the title of NMC registered teacher. I re-joined the university in 2015, but this time as a member of the academic staff, working as a senior lecturer in the child nursing team. I am currently the programme lead for the BSc nursing programmes at Bucks and it is my responsibility to ensure effective teaching and learning is delivered across these programmes.
