Dr Sanj Nathoo


Senior Lecturer


Sanj has worked over sixteen years as a senior lecturer in the School of Nursing and Allied Healthcare at BNU. At present he is the ‘Professional Lead for Adult Nursing’. Prior to that Sanj was a charge nurse on an orthopaedic ward at the Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust. Some of Sanj’s qualifications are Professional Doctorate in Nursing, Master Degree in Interprofessional Healthcare, Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Education, Diploma in Higher Education with NMC level one registration in General nursing, Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and Management as well as Post Graduate Certificates in E-Learning and Health Promotion. Sanj has a host of work as well as life experiences and speaks five languages, mainly English and French. Equally, he has excellent organisation skills, self-motivated with drive and willingness to use initiative to strive for success. Sanj teaches in mainly two programmes, BSc nursing and Post Graduate Diploma in nursing. He has taught on almost every adult module and led some of them. At the same time, Sanj acts as the moderator for a few other modules. He is a qualified ‘Moving and Handling’, ‘Violence and Aggression’ and ‘Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation’ trainer. He therefore facilitates these mandatory courses. He is the lead link lecturer for Mt Vernon and on a weekly basis, he visits the wards supporting their learning environments, by supporting both the mentors and students. He is also an examiner for the adult nursing programme for a couple of prominent Universities.
