Dr Mahon-Daly is a broad based social scientist with interests specifically in the areas of the body in Society, aspects of Deviance and social control, Citizenship, Culture, Media and Qualitative Research & Ethics. She is particularly interested in social exchange mechanisms in Society, and in the ways in which they link to social infrastructures and such as body part donation and bodily praxis. She has a long record of innovative pedagogy and curriculum design. She regularly presents at National Conferences and is a peer reviewer for several Journals. Her current research is concentrating on developing further the area of research in the use body parts, bodily practices in late Modernity- breastfeeding, exercise and disciplining the body, and the body in research. She was awarded her PhD from Brunel University. She has supervised Doctoral Candidates, and Masters and Undergraduate dissertations across her long academic career. In 2017 she was awarded the Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy demonstrating her leadership in pedagogy and the student learning and teaching experience.
