Biography

Penny Farrelly originally trained and worked as a nurse in East Suffolk I then, specialised in Renal Care in St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington before undertaking the Health Visiting course. Following a period of time she transferred into Nurse Education and subsequently into Higher Education where she has now worked for twenty seven years, the last fourteen years at Bucks New University. She is currently the course leader for the MSc Community Healthcare Practice (PG Dip entry). She teaches research on the Specialist Community Practice courses and she also teaches modules on the top-up for the Foundation Degrees in Early Years and Primary Education. Penny is currently completing her Doctorate in Education which has researched the factors that influence the success of mature learners.
