Biography

Lauren Vincent is an experienced dance artist and educator teaching on the BA (Hons) Dance and Performance and BSc (Hons) Dance and Fitness courses. She has completed a BA (Hons) Ballet Education at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and an MSc Dance Science and Education with QTS at the University of Edinburgh. She is an RAD registered ballet teacher, an Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) tap and modern teacher and a Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) accredited personal trainer.

Prior to this position she travelled the world as a dance educator teaching in countries including Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Bermuda. She has extensive experience teaching in a variety of settings including private dance schools, primary and secondary schools, community settings and in further education. She helped to establish a diploma in dance programme in Canada and was involved in training other dance teachers within the teaching team in Dubai.

Her research interests lie in the field of dance education, particularly in state schools and community settings. She has presented her research on championing the value of dance in secondary schools at One Dance UK’s Dance Teaching and Participation conference. Lauren is currently completing her Professional Doctorate in Education at the University of Reading.
