Biography

I have worked at the University since 2013 and have taught foundation degree policing students as well as undergraduate students on our Police Studies with Criminal Investigation degree.

After a career spanning 30 years’ as a police officer with Thames Valley Police, I retired as an inspector, having worked in areas including response policing, operational planning, training, custody and criminal justice. I am currently leading the academic planning for the delivery of both the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship and the Degree-holder Entry programmes for Thames Valley Police.

My interests include police education, change management, business continuity, contingency / emergency planning, and organisational culture.  I am also undertaking doctoral research relating to the introduction of the degree apprenticeship in policing under the Police Education Qualifications Framework.
