Biography

Before joining Buckinghamshire New University in 2008, I was a senior manager in the automotive sector, a role which saw me travel extensively, analysing the product and business strategies of automotive brands. I also held management positions in global automotive publishing and operations management in the aftermarket parts sectors.

I studied for my MBA at Buckinghamshire Business School and my specialist area of research is strategic capabilities in the field of automotive franchised dealerships. Dealerships had, until that point, operated in a very regulated market sector but the lifting of block exemption created new strategic challenges due to new competitors entering the sector.  My research focused on how well equipped these organizations were for the new competitive environment.

I am a member of Chartered Management Institute, CMI and member of the McKinsey Global Survey Panel and participate with the Harvard Business Review Discussion Group.

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with many blue-chip clients including Volvo, Jaguar, Citroen, Daimler, Ford, British Gas, British Telecom, National Grid and Vickers Armstrong.

My greatest accolade to date has been winning the ‘most inspirational lecturer’ award, as voted for by the students, 3 times in 2013, 2017 and 2019.
