Biography

Following my career as a Metropolitan Police Officer from 1984 to 1991, I studied for my degree and became a Prison Educator at Aylesbury Young Offenders Institute. Later, I moved to a social housing organisation where I managed anti-social behaviour, before joining Bucks New University in September 2009.

I studied for my BA (Hons) in Psychology at University of Bedford, and for my Master’s degree in Social Policy and Criminology in the Open University. I also gained the Postgraduate Certificate of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGC LTHE) from Bucks New University. My specialist areas of research are mental illness and social housing.

I am a member of HEA and the Met Women Police Association (MWPA).

My specialist knowledge has led me to work with Thames Valley Police, Metropolitan Police, Islington Housing, Aylesbury Council and various Mental Health Agencies.
