Date: 19th May 2016

The sun was shining on Buckinghamshire New University as it welcomed more than 2,000 visitors to its High Wycombe campus for Bucks Live, a jungle-themed family fun day organised by second-year BA (Hons) Music and Live Events Management students. Jungle Bucks

The event, which requires students to plan, market and manage it from beginning to end, saw funfair rides, live music, entertainment, food and drink stalls and a children's inflatable play area transform the campus in Queen Alexandra Road.

Student Jenni Clack said: "It was incredible to see so many people turn up to Jungle Bucks and enjoy the entertainment and activities we'd organised. Planning this event has been a lot of work but it's a great opportunity and has given me the chance to put into practice lots of different things I've learned on my course so far. The day itself was a great experience and it was very rewarding to see it all come together."

Artists Little Brother Eli, Coates, Alex Buckley and Nick Byrne provided live entertainment on the day, along with performances from the Hartbeats Vitae Drummers, Bucks New University's Circus Society and Holmer Green Upper School's choir and band, Counterpoint.

Second-year BA (Hons) Music and Live Events Management students.Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy a range of different food and drink stalls, including Waffle Mania, Dorset Market Kitchen Company and West Indian Cuisine. A selection of market stalls, face-painting and a raffle also contributed to the day's popularity.

Senior Lecturer in Events Management Neil Mackey said: "A great deal of preparation goes into this event, over a six month period, by the students and this preparation is supported by many other courses and departments at the University, who underpin their efforts."

Jungle Bucks is the fourth Bucks Live event hosted by the University. The annual family fun day is organised each year by second-year BA (Hons) Music and Live Events Management students as part of their degree.
