Class of 2020 - Graduating Students Package
We encourage all Bucks students to keep in touch after graduating, but for the Class of 2020 we are offering even more to support you as you enter the next phase of your career.
This is not how your final year with us should have been, and we are so disappointed that you haven’t been able to enjoy these last few months with your fellow students and lecturers. But you should take great pride in the ways you have risen to the challenges of these unsettling times and all you have achieved during your time with us.
As a way of recognising this we have put together a range of opportunities designed to support you in your progression; whether this be focused on enhancing your ability to shine when applying for jobs, nurturing your entrepreneurial ambition, or providing you with relevant and valuable work experience. Click on the links below to find out more and to learn how to register your interest.
We want you to stay in touch - whether that be because you want career advice, wellbeing support or just want to visit the gym!
As a Class of 2020 graduate you have lifelong access to our support which includes:
- Career planning
- CVs, application forms and interviews
- Job searches
- Developing your networks
- Key skills such as commercial awareness, project management and finance
Access MyBucksCareer using your Bucks email and password - it has a range of interactive career advice including CV and covering letter builders, videos and reports from industry professionals, as well as lots of interactive tools to help your employability.
If you would like to talk to someone about your career, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Continuation of Advice Centre Support - We recognise that after graduation there is a period of transition as you shift from being a student to an active job seeker. This can be an exciting time; however it may also be unsettling for some. If you need advice or support our Student Centre is available to you. Email Student.email@example.com.
Mental health support - As a Bucks Graduate, you are eligible to register for TogetherAll using your Bucks email address. This online platform is a 24/7, anonymous support tool to promote self-care within the community. Users can receive peer support through an online community, join free online wellbeing and self-help courses, and browse useful resources.
Gym membership - All graduates are eligible for student-rate membership of the Gateway Gym – for life! This gym membership not only gives you access to the fantastic exercise facilities, personal programme writing and a full schedule of group exercise sessions, it also entitles you to big discounts on additional services such as Personal Training. For more information see our Alumni Membership section.
Library Access - Do you need a quiet space to read, study or apply for jobs? You can continue to attend our campus libraries and use the study space and access printed materials. Some access to online resources will be available, so please ask librarians for more details when you visit.
Just because you’ve graduated doesn’t mean you can’t grow further - you might want to consider more study, like a PG Cert, or just boost the skills you already have.
If you fancy a postgraduate course at Bucks in September 2020 or February 2021, you’re eligible for a 20% fee discount per year for full-time or part-time Level 7 courses (in attendance or distance learning). This discount will be extended to 25% if you choose to be accommodated in our halls (subject to availability).
We appreciate the challenges all graduates face as they enter the highly competitive employment market, so we’re offering you the opportunity to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Leadership. Open to graduates of all disciplines, it’s been specially designed to boost your career prospects. Applications are invited for the free places available on this online, distance-learning course, which has an emphasis on developing your skills in problem solving, creative thinking, leadership and management. Applying knowledge to practice and real-life problems is a hallmark of this programme, as is true for all courses at Bucks.
