Your Students' Union
Your Students’ Union
From societies and sports to volunteering, training and workshops, Bucks Students' Union has a lot to offer, and it’s mostly free. The Students’ Union is run by students for students, and also provides a friendly advice service and representation scheme to ensure you can express your views on a wide range of topics and issues.
When you enrol on a course at Bucks, you automatically become a member of our Students' Union. It’s not compulsory, and there are no fees involved, but there are so many good reasons to be a member, like having access to a vast range of services, benefits and discounts – and opportunities to have fun, express yourself and get involved with like-minded people.
For example, we offer The Big Deal , a unique package of free participation in entertainment, sports, societies, and all kinds of recreational and developmental activities.
We will entertain you
Bucks Students’ Union runs The Venue, a student-focused social space comprising The Lounge and a 1,100-capacity event space for the hottest live touring bands, renowned DJ club nights, and all kinds of other shenanigans including comedy, theatre and exhibitions.
Plus, it’s an amazingly good-value bar, right in the heart of our High Wycombe Campus. With free internet access, it’s a great place to hang out, enjoy our snack menu and stay connected during the day – and then an award-winning entertainment venue every single night. And the best bit? As a member of the Students’ Union, it’s all free (apart from the food and drink!)
Whatever you’re into…
From dance to drama, and from watersports to hockey – there are almost as many personal passions as there are students at Bucks, so you’re bound to find a society or sports club that floats your boat or stirs your creativity. And even in the unlikely event there isn’t a club or society that satisfies your extra-curricular cravings, we’ll help you set one up!

Whatever your standard, our squads welcome you to come along and train. With over 30 teams in 20 different disciplines, there really is something for everyone.
Societies offer an opportunity to get together with a group of like-minded individuals who share an interest or hobby.
