Shopping
High Wycombe
If you fancy some retail therapy while you’re studying at Bucks,
you won’t be short of choice. An extensive re-development of
the town centre brings us the exciting Eden complex – one of the
most anticipated new shopping and leisure destinations in the
country. March 2008 saw Eden open its doors for the first time,
ready for you to discover an array of big name shops, a 12-screen
cinema, state-of-theart bowling alley, a library, exclusive
restaurants and much more. Visit the eden shopping website for
further information.
Alternatively you can visit the Chilterns Shopping
Centre, which has a Wilkinson and Primark and a number of
other familiar names. There’s also a John Lewis Home and
Leisure store at the Cressex Centre, which actually ranks as the
largest retail unit in the whole of the Chilterns.
If this all sounds a little bit mainstream for you, don’t
panic. You might like to try Ruby Moon in Castle Street, near
the train station. From incense and carvings through to goth,
punk and street clothing, the shop claims to “put a bit of fun into
Wycombe”. Find out more by visiting the Ruby Moon
Website
And every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, there’s a
bustling market in the High Street with some 110 different
stalls. Farmers’ markets are held every first Wednesday of
the month in The Causeway, Marlow and also every third Thursday
morning in the High Street, Princes Risborough.
Be extravagant - but just once in a
while. Take time to enjoy the sights, sounds and shopping of
the local area.
