Eating Out

High Wycombe and Uxbridge offer the hungry student a wide and diverse range of places to eat, from the usual fast food chains to something a little more up-market (perhaps when someone else is paying!) We asked our students to pick a selection of their favourites and here are the pubs and restaurants that get their vote. Of course, tastes do vary but one thing’s for sure - you won’t have difficulty finding something that suits your budget.

Great menu of pizza and pasta, friendly atmosphere, lunch and evening menu. Can cater for large groups. Classy, but not too expensive, best to book a table in advance.

Auberge - ££
Chimes, Uxbridge

It's easy to enjoy a pint in this barn conversion, but the feel of Auberge is more like that of a posh restaurant. The menu is huge and the service is friendly but what makes this place worthy of a visit is the extensive range of draught and bottled Belgian beer.

Fresh Italian-style food at student-friendly prices. Classic pastas, crispy salads, sandwiches and a variety of hot and cold options ensures there's always something for the hungry scholar.

Eat Thai - £££

Extensive menu of authentic Thai cuisine. Friendly atmosphere but a more formal option.

The Fig Tree - ££
Windsor Stree, Uxbridge

Good bar menu, usually with lots of meal deals. A reasonable selection of beers and ales. Excellent beer garden for the warmer months.

Raj Restaurant - ££

Traditional curry house, not too pricey and service is always with a smile!

Reasonably priced oriental-style food – always busy, lots of noodle and veggy dishes. Get there early!

Zizzi - ££

Excellent Italian food chain with very welcoming staff and impressive contemporary surroundings. Try and get a banquette seat!
