Graduation Stories 2009
Our sincere congratulations go to this year's graduating
students. All of our students have a tale to tell, and to follow
are a few of the truly inspirational success stories from
2009.
Nasrine Sharif from High Wycombe, overcame health,
family and cultural obstacles to achieve her dream and attend
university. She has now graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business
Management with Law from Bucks New University.
Edinburgh security
boss gains MA distinction
G4S Events Managing Director, Mark Hamilton from Edinburgh, has
gained a distinction on the MA in Leadership & Management
programme at Buckinghamshire New University. He graduated on 10
September alongside four G4S colleagues who received a Foundation
Degree in Crowd Safety Management.
Aviation graduate is flying
high
Scott Bourke from Bracknell has became one of the first students to
graduate from Bucks New University, having completed the Bucks New
University and Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) Foundation Degree in
Air Transport Management with Airline Pilot Training
programme.
Dancers gain MA
distinctions
Dancers, Lynn Bouchier from Papworth Everard near Cambridge, and
Jill Kemp from Milton Keynes, have gained distinctions for their
work on the MA in Leadership & Management at Buckinghamshire
New University. Lynn and Jill graduated in the presence of family
and friends at one of eleven graduation ceremonies which took place
last week.
Michigan graduate secures her
future in the UK
Elissabeth Brookes, from West
Wycombe, gained a first-class honours degree in International
Travel & Tourism Management and has already secured two posts
in the leisure and events sector. She graduated from Bucks New
University on 11 September.

beautiful game
Babajide Fatogun from Sheffield attended Bucks New University's
first ever National Soccer Summer School in 2004, returned to the
University as a student, and has now graduated with a BSc (Hons) in
Sport & Coaching Science.

University.

Mum of two, Jane Wells from Winslow in
North Bucks, juggled her busy life and full-time employment to
complete a BA (Hons) in Professional Studies at Buckinghamshire New
University. She was awarded a 2:1 and graduated on 10
September.
Ruislip graduate tells Polish
success story
Russell Harbison from Ruislip is celebrating the completion of a
postgraduate degree, having completed a course of study whilst
working full-time at Bucks New University, bringing up a family of
four with his wife, Anne, and working as a Scout Leader for a group
in West London.

Young designer, Matthew Baldwin,
graduated with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Furniture & Related
Product Design from Bucks New University on 7 September.
Never to old to gain a
degree
Life is one long adventure, and Tony Hobbs
continues his at the youthful age of 71. Tony graduated with a BA
(Hons) in Creative Arts from Bucks New University after following a
course of study at the Open College of the Arts (OCA).

First in the family to
graduate
Alexandra Lukjaniec is the first member of her family to graduate
from university. She graduated with a Diploma of Higher Education
in Nursing from Bucks New University on 9 September.
Changing careers is never easy, and doing so when you have
three teenage children is harder still. But that was the goal that
Tatenda and Douglas Makurumure from Slough set themselves, before
going on to graduate from Bucks New University on 9
September.
