British Nursing Index

by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE). It covers a
wide range of social work literature with references to journal
articles, books, websites, legislation, and reports. Social Care
Online provides over 80,000 abstracts (short summaries), in
addition to full text for some articles and government
documents.

This database offers a comprehensive coverage of sociology and all
sociological sub–disciplines as well as closely related areas of
study.
SportDiscus on
campus access / off campus access is via Shibboleth.
Offers access to sports and sports medicine journals. There is a
choice between two databases. SPORTDiscus Select offers full
text from 169 journals. In SPORTDiscus with Full Text (confusingly)
not all the articles are available for free in full text. When you
are in one, you can move to the other simply by using the drop-down
box below the search fields.
SpringerLink - Journals
database on campus access only. SpringerLink is the
premier electronic data source from Springer for researchers in
biomedicine, life science, clinical medicine, physics, engineering,
mathematics, computer science, humanities and
economics.
Suncat on & off
campus access is available. The Serials Union Catalogue for the UK
research community is a free tool to help researchers locate
serials held in the UK. The catalogue contains information on both
print and electronic serials, including journals, periodicals,
newspapers, newsletters, magazines, proceedings, annual reports and
other publications of a continuing nature.

TRILT (Television & Radio
Index for Learning & Teaching) on & off campus
access. Provides the most extensive online data available on UK
broadcasting, covering 350 stations including terrestrial, cable
and satellite television, as well as national and local radio.
TRILT currently holds comprehensive data from June 2001, with
selected information from terrestrial television dating back to
1995. The data is made available at least 10 days before
transmission and is constantly updated and improved.

Service (VADS):
online resource for visual arts on & off
campus access. VADS is the online resource for visual arts. It has
built up a considerable portfolio of visual art collections
comprising over 100,000 images that are freely available and
copyright cleared for use in learning, research and teaching in the
UK.

Interscience on & off campus access is via
username and password. Wiley Interscience is the online journals
service from John Wiley & Sons and now includes journal content
from Blackwell Synergy. You need to click on Institutional Login
and then put in the Username and Password. Please see

WARC (World Advertising Research
Center) on campus / off campus access needs
username and password. Contains full text articles from many
academic advertising journals, e.g. Journal of Advertising
