The Archive will hold:
 
PhD and MPhil theses approved for the award of the relevant degree. Any reasonable time restrictions or other embargo on access to all or part of an item will be complied with.

Published research articles which have been copyright cleared.

Pre-prints of research articles which have preferably been peer-reviewed within the institution to ensure quality.

Working papers that have agreement from all interested parties.

Conference proceedings for which agreements have been signed by all parties relating to papers presented at the conference.

Papers for conferences (usually pre-prints) provided agreement has been reached with the conference organisers. Agreements must be made with regard to jointly sponsored/organised conferences about deposit arrangements.

Pre-prints of chapters in books for which agreement has been received from all interested parties; publisher, editor or co-author(s).

Masters dissertations marked at 70% or distinction, subject to the student’s permission.

Born-digital material that fall within the arena of Research. Computer games, software, video, audio recordings or broadcasts can be included.

References to articles and books that have not been deposited can be recorded in BKA in way of providing a record of research produced by researchers in the university for the Research Excellence Framework.

All items will have appropriate metadata attached to enable search and retrieval within the archive. The Dublin Core expanded protocol will be used as standard.

Any items which are later found to be unlawful or subject to question will immediately be removed from public view, and removed entirely if proved to infringe the law whether under UK or international law.
