This conference discussed this early intervention in relation to prevention of child abuse and neglect, and its relation to safeguarding. Bucks Local Safeguarding Children’s Board was a partner for the conference this year.
Conference agenda:
When reviewing the changes that have taken place recently in child protection, Buckinghamshire New University recognised the importance of bringing together practitioners and managers from across the different sectors to encourage better communication and to facilitate best practice and knowledge transfer.
The programme provided opportunities to debate current issues in Child Protection. A keynote was given by Professor Sir Albert Aynsley Green. The day also had two safeguarding paper presentations and a session run by the Bucks Safeguarding board who provided an update on current legislation and the impact thishas for practice following the Munro report. An afternoon panel discussed the role of practitioners from health, police, social work and early years practice in relation to current child protection issues.
