The School of Business &
Management (BAM) has developed an active research community which
encourages interdisciplinary study and promotes international
diversity. The school offers regular research colloquia, for staff
and students, as well as research training and research methods
programmes.
Our
mission:
"To promote and stimulate a culture of
active scholarship and research,
which advances knowledge,
informs our curriculum and provides a
useful contribution to
industry and commerce in the region."
Full-time and part-time research
degrees are offered at M Phil and PhD level in a range of subjects
relevant to business and management. The School provides
opportunities for study in a number of specific areas and welcomes
fresh proposals for research. The University also works with
organisations to offer tailor-made development programmes for
employees.

Focused research is divided between specific research centres
comprising:
- International Management Research Group
- Business Forecasting Research Group
These centres act as a focus for
research and supervision and have established academic links with
other universities and with commercial and professional
organisations both in the UK and overseas.
Research projects are funded both
by the EU and commercial organisations.
