singer with guitar in recording studioThe staff for Audio and Music Production comprises a team of highly skilled and experienced professionals, who are supported by regular visits from guest lecturers from industry. Below is a brief summary of the experiences and achievements of the permanent staff team: 

One member of staff has recorded (as engineer and programmer) over 160 commercially released CDs, including releases that were awarded a gold discs (including The Fall’s The Light User Syndrome (Trojan ‘Jet Records’ 1996), The Fall’s Cerebral Caustic (Artful Records 1995) and the compilation Drum and Bass Mania (Emporio, 2001))

Another member of staff was formerly a freelance Concert Tour Manager with 19 years music industry experience, who has worked with artists such as; Drugstore, House of Pain, Machine Head, Mogwai, Roots Manuva, Redd Kross, Super Furry Animals, Skunk Anansie, Stereolab, Sneaker Pimps, Utah Saints, The Wallflowers, The White Stripes

A member of the lecturing team ran professional recording studio facilities in central London, as well as being engaged in consultancy and production work for several record companies and distributors in the UK and Europe including ZYX Records (UK and Germany), Disco Magic Records (UK and Italy), Chrysalis Music (UK), Virgin, Universal, etc.

The credibility of the lecturing and technical staff is matched by that of our unparalleled production facilities. These include a range of recording studios, lighting rigs/facilities and programming suites, along with performance and rehearsal spaces large enough to accommodate anything from the solo musician to a full-blown orchestral arrangement. Set in acoustically treated spaces the working environment is creative and productive, with the following pro specification:

Audio & Music Production StudioSTUDIO ONE houses a Protools HD2 Recorder, which is fully loaded with a range of plug-ins and real time effects. Mixing is undertaken using a Focusrite Control 24 fully automated console. This studio uses Genelec 5.1 Surround and Yamaha monitoring.


 

Bucks New University Audio & Music Production StudioSTUDIO TWO comprises a Mackie HDR 24/96 Hard Disc Recorder with a Mackie 32/8 Mixer. The monitoring options include both Tannoy and Yamaha.


 



Bucks New University Audio & Music Production StudioSTUDIO THREE
runs on a Dual 2.5ghz Powermac G5 running Pro Tools HD2 Accel with a Digidesign Control 24 control surface. This set-up features Focusrite Octopre Platinum mic preamps, Digidesign 192 i/o and Digidesign MIDI i/o. Software options include Pro Tools HD 7.3, Reason 3, Waves Gold Bundle, Izotope Trash / Spectron / Ozone and Digidesign Sound Replacer.



Bucks New University Audio & Music Production StudioSTUDIO FOUR also runs on a Dual 2.5ghz Powermac G5 but with a Digidesign Digi002 Control Surface. Software options here include Pro Tools LE 7.3 with Ignition Pack, Reason 3 and the Digidesign DV Toolkit.


 


The PROGRAMMING SUITE records to a 16 track Alesis ADAT and software options include Cubase and Logic. Mixing is undertaken using a Soundcraft Digital Console with Yamaha monitors.

The COMPOSITION/TRAINING SUITE houses 15 'IMac G5' workstations with M Box interfaces, each running full versions of Protools, Reason and Logic Audio.
