The Student Experience
The BA (Hons) Audio and Music Production is primarily a
practical course that prepares students for employment in both
studio-based and ‘live’ audio environments.
Students are taught about the functions and operations of live and
recorded music applications, enjoying a great deal of hands on
experience in ‘state of the art’ facilities.
New and future
media constitutes a significant area of study, and the delivery of
modules related to business practice and entrepreneurship underpin
the vocational element of this course. These include business
modules that delve into areas such as finance/negotiation &
communication, self-employment, intellectual property law and
allied rights. Students are expected to graduate with an ability to
‘hit the ground running’, possessing a portfolio of work and
project management skills which will make them readily employable
in the live and recorded music sectors.

A diverse range of employment opportunities are open
to graduates from this programme including: studio and live
production/engineering, music performance, audio for multi media,
audio post production for Film/TV, music technology retail, music
hardware/software support, audio production/sound design for the
web.
** Whilst it is not an absolute
requirement for students to be ‘musically trained’, it is expected
that you will be either a self taught or trained musician/singer,
with at least some experience of either recording or
performance
