CISCO CCNA Exploration: Network Design
CISCO Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) is
the qualification for anybody wanting to enter the computer network
industry, make initial progress within the field, or needing a
thorough knowledge of network technologies.
Students are guided through the multimedia
course material which is available online to all registered
students. The online material supplements practical exercises,
instructor delivered content and prepares students for the regular
online tests. Students will be expected to undertake a significant
amount of study outside of the teaching sessions.
CCNA comprises four separate stages (Network
Technologies 1-4). On successful completion of the four stages,
students will be ready to attempt the Prometric test to achieve the
CCNA qualification. The Pearson-Vue test is an external exam and
attracts a separate fee.
Schedule
On completion of this stage, students will be
able to:
- troubleshoot common network problems at
layers 1, 2, 3, and 7 using a layered model approach
- interpret network diagrams
- perform and verify initial switch
configuration tasks including remote access management
- configure, verify, and troubleshoot VLANs,
interVLAN, routing, VTP, trunking on Cisco switches, and RSTP
operation
- manage IOS configuration files
- identify the basic parameters to configure a
wireless network and common implementation issues.
