This short course is intended to cater for individuals who have had little or no experience of Hot Glass making or design. It will introduce some of the basic techniques necessary for working with Hot Glass, such as gathering, casting and blowing. It is a very practical and ‘hands on’ course, giving people from the locality with an interest in craft a rare opportunity to get involved with this intriguing material. The course will be run in a purpose built glass studio with expert tutors with safe and effective use of up to date equipment.

Schedule

Day 1: Introduction and demonstrations to the workshops

Day 2: Sandcasting Glass Practical

Day 3: Blowing Glass Practical

Day 4: Finishing, grinding, polishing and sandblasting techniques.

Award: Certificate of attendance
